About Us

Located in La Porte, Indiana A&N Lumber Products is a small company comprised solely of two cousins (us), Andrew Ward, and Nicholas (Nick) Krcilek.

The origins of A&N Lumber Products go back to 2019, when Nick acquired his grandparent's dairy farm. As the last generation of dairymen had retired, the barnyard and surrounding landscape had been left in-state, largely reclaimed by nature.

For years, we'd been dedicating nearly every available weekend to reclaiming and cleaning the property. From cutting brush, removing old fence-lines, to demolishing collapsed barns and renovating others, much has changed since then.

In the summer of 2019, a project to stabilize a nearly-collapsed barn engulfed in wild chokecherry was underway; several trees were removed, some of which were quite large. The notion came about to use a chainsaw to mill them into usable lumber.

Though tedious,several beautiful boards were harvested, and this served as inspiration to then build a sawmill from scratch.

With a bit of patience and ingenuity, materials were gathered, and the sawmill was built. We have since milled thousands of board feet of different species, largely sourced from "nuisance trees" removed by farmers as they maintain their fields.

What started as a hobby has quickly turned into aspirations to form a full-fledged business. In the fall of 2023, an old cattle free-stall was repurposed to serve as our primary workshop.

We finished the construction in February of 2024, and have since begun development of several different products, with a focus on creating personalized keepsakes that last lifetimes and beyond. We are excited to see what the future entails!
